About Fentanyl Abuse
Fentanyl abuse is a serious problem that can actually have very deadly consequences if not handled properly. There are lots of people who are addicted to opiates that would like to get their hands on a Fentanyl patch for pain relief. Once they have the patch they misuse it by getting a ultra large dose of this medication in a very quick period of time. This is why many people are known to overdose and die when abusing the Fentanyl pain patch. Need help with Fentanyl abuse right now? Facts About Fentanyl
The one thing that you definitely need to know about the Fentanyl pain patch is that it is actually 100 times more powerful than a regular dose of morphine. So you are talking about an extremely powerful and concentrated form of this opioid, which is why many different addicts are obviously going to continue to be drawn toward it.
An addict will actually take one of these patches and withdraw the total amount of the Fentanyl from the patch. This is actually a 72 hour dose of this drug that is supposed to get steadily time released into your bloodstream for consistent pain relief. So obviously if an addict manages to pull out 72 hours worth of a powerful opioid, and then inject it into their body all at the same time you can expect to have massive amounts of overdoses and death because this is way too powerful of a dose for one person to take at a single time.
That’s one of the major problems with Fentanyl abuse, as well as abuse of many other different opiates. The addict is so hooked on these particular drugs that they are incapable of making decisions that will help preserve their health. They obviously aren’t even concerned about that at all or they wouldn’t be taking these powerful opiates to begin with. That’s why addiction is so tough to deal with and very hard to get back under control.
Facts About Fentanyl Abuse
The obvious answer to this question is that any opiate addict is looking to achieve a really powerful high by abusing Fentanyl in this manner. They are able to get high in a few different ways, and it all depends on the addict’s preference. I already touched on the way that an addict will inject Fentanyl in one shot which is obviously a very potent amount and it could very well lead to overdose and death.
Another form of getting high with this particular drug is to ingest it. This is another dangerous way to take this drug because you can’t easily figure out how much you’re going to need to ingest before you actually get really high. This drug actually comes in a gel form, so you could literally eat it and see what happens as far as getting your high is concerned.
There are people who have been able to eat a large amount of a 100 mcg/h dosage and literally feel no effects at first. But then you might decide to eat just a tiny bit more of the same gel and it can literally knock you out because all of a sudden it all kicks in and what you have is really powerful high taking place.
In my opinion this is extremely dangerous as well because you have no way of knowing what it’s going to take for this to affect you, so you could easily overdose because you keep eating more and more of the gel without experiencing anything and then all of a sudden it kicks in and you overdose right on the spot. So be very careful if you’re abusing this drug in this manner, and really make it a point to do your best to try and get some professional help so you can quit altogether because it’s destroying your life.
The last way to participate in Fentanyl abuse is to smoke it. Although none of these methods are very safe and Fentanyl itself is extremely powerful and should be avoided at all costs, smoking this drug is probably the safest way to abuse it. I’m not going to go into the full details of exactly how to get high by smoking Fentanyl, but you’re basically smoking it off of foil and inhaling the vapors.
When you inhale the vapors you are going to get high and it should definitely last you a few hours depending on how much of it you smoke all at the same time. Most people just put a few drops and that is plenty for them to get the feelings that they are looking to achieve.
Why Individuals Begin Abusing Fentanyl
The main reason somebody is going to begin abusing Fentanyl is because they are already an opiate addict and they are just looking for different ways to get high on more and more powerful opiates. There is obviously a strong possibility that somebody will be taking Fentanyl for pain and end up getting hooked on this drug as well.
Unfortunately, there are many instances where people were literally just trying to get themselves medical help with a serious problem that they were having, but they end up getting hooked on the prescription drugs that the doctor prescribes and once their prescription runs out they take to the streets to continue to get high now that they don’t have the ability to get high from the doctor’s prescription.
This is often exactly how many opiate abusers end up getting hooked on more and more powerful opiates and then they develop a really bad habit as well. I know the medical profession means well when they prescribe Fentanyl patches and things like that, but Fentanyl abuse can really turn into a much more serious problem and this type of medication shouldn’t be given out so lightly. There needs to be a lot more regulation in place and doctors need to interview their patients more to see if they can determine whether or not they have an addictive personality.
